She worked as an RN at South Lake Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1992. ![]() She met Clarence Papetti in English class at the University of Tennessee, and they married in 1953.After leaving Memphis, they lived in Jacksonville, Florida Huntington L.I., New York and finally Clermont, Florida. She served in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis with post graduate work and studies at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from McKenzie High School in 1944. She had many fond memories and often told stories of her childhood on a farm in McKenzie. One of the highlights of her life was a 2008 trip to Italy where she particularly enjoyed visiting our father’s relatives.Barbara was born in McKenzie, Tennessee in 1926, the daughter of Mary Lucy Welch Wright and William Talmage James Brittain Wright. She delighted especially in traveling and visiting her cherished friends and relatives, who greatly enjoyed and appreciated her visits. She was civic minded and always dutiful to her church, community, family and friends. A loving mother, Barbara, always encouraged her children to learn, not only at school but in all of their activities and hobbies. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends will greatly miss her. She was a very compassionate person who influenced many lives.
